Author Mehrnousch Zaeri-Esfahani was asked by illustrator Magdalena Kaszuba: "How are you?" The comic was created based on this conversation for the campaign "How are you? – Illustrators against anti-Semitism, hate, and racism." Mehrnousch Zaeri-Esfahani, born in 1974 in Isfahan, Iran, left Iran with her family in 1985 and came to Germany via Turkey from the former GDR. She grew up in Heidelberg, studied social work in Freiburg, and worked as a social worker until 2016. Since 2012, she has been writing poems and short stories and working as a freelance author. In 2016, she published her autobiography "33 Bogen und ein Teehaus" (33 Sheets and a Teahouse) (Carlsen Verlag) and the autobiographical novel "Das Mondmädchen" (The Moon Girl) (Knesebeck). The novels focus on families on the run and life in their new homeland. She is also a coach and a speaker at think tanks, offering solutions and exchanges of ideas on social cohesion and current political events in Germany and around the world.
