The ongoing Russian-Ukranian war (2014 - present) began with Russia's armed invasion and occupation of Crimea in 2014. The conflict escalated to a new level with Russia's full-scale invasion, drawing global attention to the devastating impacts of war, including widespread human rights violations, mass displacement, and the resilience of those affected, particularly women. In February 2025, the president of Ukraine reported that 46,000 Ukranian soldiers have been killed, 380,000 injured, tens of thousands are missing, and more than 19,500 children have been deported to Russia. Additionally, thousands of civilians have been killed by Russian shelling.
