Guido van Hengel is a historian and writer of non-fiction. Has a PhD in Cultural History from the University of Groningen. In the field of comics, he co-initiated and coordinated a number of international artistic projects, including Strip it! (2009), Migrating Comics (2010), Comixiade (2010-2012), Front-Lines (2014), and Remix Comix (2022-2024). He is part of the editorial team of the Dutch Review of Books (cultural critique), Donau (Central and Eastern Europe) and Drawing the Times.
