Erik van Tuijn (Eindhoven, 1977) is an illustrator, comic artist and creator of hard-to-categorize handmade books. He is based in Utrecht and often works under the name Blijstift. If you give him a blank slate, he draws odd (black) birds and dark-edged stories in cheerful colours. But he doesn't like to be pigeonholed, so he does lots of visual recordings for companies, draws narrative vistas and makes comic books for (young) adults on complex subjects such like migration.
