Julia Kleinbeck has a PhD in art history and works as a freelance illustrator currently living in Karlsruhe (Germany). In her artistic work, she primarily pursues the stories between the lines in the format of graphic journalism and ’silent comics‘. Paying attention to unnoticed, fleeting things and making them visible is a major concern for her. Her work has been shown at comic festivals and published in magazines. She is the winner of the ARD Kultur Creators Competition 2022 and subsequently realized “Connecting Stories”, a collection of various graphic essays on feminist topics produced by SWR, together with the illustrator Lucie Langston. In February 2024, Julia Kleinbeck expanded the curation group of “Wie geht es dir?”.
