The renowned Danish welfare system is under heavy critizism for its inability to handle patients with mental issues. The psychiatric and social psychiatric systems are underfinanced, oldfashioned and rigid, critics say. Recently, the social psyciatric administration in the city of Copenhagen has begun employing former patients in order to develop new methods.
