In 2018 Alex Mankiewicz made a story about the Kurdish writer Behrouz Boochani, who was in the Manus Island detention camp at that time. When she started searching on the internet for images of the detention camp, she found almost nothing. She wondered why. This piece is about images, pictures, photographs – and about censorship.
