Mei-Li Nieuwland (1988) is a cultural anthropologist, using comics and illustration to open up complex issues for understanding and debate. Her approach characteristically combines hands-on fieldwork with design thinking, and continues to explore the potential of images to tell stories that stick. Topics of special interest include computer science and technology, privacy, the environment, migration, and work in the age of automation.
