Bas van der Schot works as a political cartoonist/illustrator for the Dutch daily newspaper De Volkskrant. His cartoons are internationally distributed via Cartoonists en Writers Syndicate (USA) and Courrier International (Paris). Other clients in the Netherlands: Vrij Nederland, Intermediair, Filosofie-Magazine, Ad Valvas (VU), Mare (Leiden), Univers (Tilburg) en Erasmus-Magazine (Rotterdam). In 2003 he won the Dutch Inktspotprijs, an award for the best political cartoon of the year.
